Swim lessons shouldn’t be all the same. Where’s the fun in that?
At Sailfish Swim School, we’ve flipped the model on the age-old swim lesson dynamic. Our modular system offers private swim lessons for all skill levels and beginning at 6 months old, with an emphasis on learning water safety and swim techniques through child-directed play.
We believe the best learning happens when students are unaware they’re actively learning.
Guided play offers a structured environment where students can express their ideas, and build upon them, without the rigidity of one-size-fits-all expectations. If there’s a particular part of a lesson a swimmer dislikes, for example, they may choose to do that part last, or even hold off till the next lesson. Because they’re given the freedom to set their pace and explore, Sailfish swimmers learn intrinsically, and everything they learn stays with them longer.
Swim lessons are provided at your home or another suitable location and are offered year-round as long as the pool is heated.
Our North Hollywood location offers onsite lessons in our 90-degree pool, and we look forward to expanding our offerings in St. Petersburg/Tampa and Orlando, Fla.; Raleigh, N.C.; and North Hollywood/Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, Calif. Each lesson is tailored to the specific needs of each student regardless of age, with an evaluation on day one that sets students up for success with their lesson plans, in order to develop what we hope is a lifelong love for swimming.
